Christ Redeemer

Exlusive Experience

The best known Brazilian icon in the world

Wonderful beaches, breathtaking scenery… it’s no wonder that Rio de Janeiro is known as the Marvelous City. But, who reigns omnipresent, with open arms for those who arrive, is Christ the Redeemer. Much more than a postcard, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

It is installed on top of Morro do Corcovado, more than 700 meters high and is one of the most visited tourist spots in the city, receiving millions of tourists from Brazil and around the world. If you still don’t know Christ the Redeemer, here we give the path of stones for you to live this incredible experience!

History of Christ the Redeemer
Christ the Redeemer was built in France by French-Polish artist Paul Landowsky, based on a 1923 project by Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa. He came to Brazil by ship, in separate pieces, and was mounted on the Morro do Corcovado. The assembly took place in 1930 and the inauguration in 1931. In 2007, by popular vote, it was elected one of the Seven Wonders of the World and in 2012 it was considered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
